Abstract

With the accelerated deployment of mega constellations, the risk of collisions between satellites has sharply increased. In order to study the situation and evolution characteristics of two debris clouds generated by the collisions of two satellites, this paper simulates and calculates the situation and evolution of the two debris clouds generated by the collisions of two satellites, including the overall situation and debris situation after the generation of the debris clouds, and discusses the dispersion of the debris clouds in positional space, including the distribution characteristics of relevant parameters.Research has shown that both the inclination vector and the velocity clustering of fragments in the geocentric inertial frame can effectively identify the source of disintegrated fragments. The research results can provide reference suggestions for space traffic management and space safety protection.
