Space targets including space debris have multidimensional motion characteristics such as translation,vibration and rotation.Accurate detection of them has great significance for cataloging management and predicting the reentry orbit of space debris.This paper briefly describes the existing laser micro-Doppler effect detection technology,simulates and calculates the effective detection range and detection accuracy of this technology for space debris with a diameter of 0.01m,0.1m,5m,10m and a moving speed of 8km/s.The results show the laser micro-Doppler effect detection can realize far detection range,high velocity resolution and angular resolution which make it possible to realize high-precision on-orbit observation of space debris.Finally,the key technologies that need to be solved to realize the on-orbit application of laser micro-Doppler LIDAR are analyzed.
